At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, Lotus unveiled the 3-Eleven – the OEM’s quickest and most expensive series production car. The new model will be available in both Road and Race versions. Here are some of the highlights:

There’s an updated power unit
The new Lotus 3-Eleven is powered by a revised version of the 3.5-liter V6 that first appeared in the Evora 400, which includes a supercharger with integrated water-to-air charge cooler.

And the new car has the numbers to prove it
Maximum power output has increased to 456ps at 7,000rpm and torque has increased to 450Nm, with maximum torque available from 3,500rpm through to 6,500rpm.

Which makes it very quick
With a dry weight of below 900kg (in the Race version), the 3-Eleven offers a power-to-weight ratio in excess of 500ps per ton, and is capable of sprinting from 0-60mph (0-96.6km/h) in less than 3 seconds before reaching a maximum speed of 280km/h for the Race version and 290km/h for the Road version.

Both versions are loaded
A close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox with a Torsen-type limited-slip differential, featuring a performance clutch assembly and oil cooler, comes as standard on the Road version. The Race model has a 6-speed sequential transmission with a semi-dry sump, oil cooler, limited slip differential and paddle shift.
