Powertrain Controls Engineer (Jaguar Land Rover)

UK / All locations

Salary: UK Sterling 35k

There’s no telling how far your career could go with Jaguar Land Rover. Driven by inspiration and creativity, we’re painting a remarkable picture of success - expanding at an astounding rate and pushing forward into key markets worldwide.

Thanks to unrivalled performance, leading edge design and innovative technology, Jaguar Land Rover engines do more than power our vehicles. They’re key factors in our ongoing global success story; captivating the attention of the globe’s most discerning drivers. As a Controls Engineer in Engines Manufacturing, you’ll play a vital role in that story too. You’ll be instrumental in driving standards and performance. And you’ll help us shape the future of automotive engine operations.

Your varied responsibilities will span everything from electrical projects and operation improvements to repair and replacement. What’s more, you’ll enjoy a fascinating and deeply rewarding career journey from day one. Starting out in our Engine Project Team, you’ll ensure all controls standards and specifications meet Plant requirements – before moving forward to an important role within the Plant itself.

You’ll utilise your expert controls knowledge in many ways – from supporting crisis maintenance and breakdowns, through providing guidance for Kaizen activities, to managing control and electrical system modifications and updates. Along the way, you’ll work closely with manufacturing engineers, integrated production and maintenance teams, and machine tool vendors – including the provision of valuable training. Looking to the future, you’ll also help us identify new capital projects to maintain the health of the facility.

A talented and driven controls engineer, you’re appropriately qualified both in academic and experiential terms. Your background in manufacturing doesn’t need to include automotive – but a passion for our brand is crucial. With excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering results, you’re equally effective as a leader and a team player. We’ll expect you to demonstrate a high level of creativity coupled with excellent analytical skills and proven problem solving ability. A good knowledge of the MS Office suite is essential.

Our customers expect the best, and so do we, so you’ll be challenged every day. You’ll hone your skills to the leading edge and you’ll enjoy all the rewards that come from powering the growth of a prestigious luxury brand. So wherever you want to go in your career, you can be sure that Jaguar Land Rover is your ultimate destination.

Our employees have access to a privilege car purchase scheme, membership of a competitive pension plan, performance related bonus scheme and 25 days holiday entitlement.

Please note, we reserve the right to close or extend this position depending on application numbers. Therefore we would urge candidates to submit an application as early as possible.

Please read the information on our vacancies carefully as you are required to make one application only (multiple applications will be withdrawn). Jaguar Land Rover will review your application throughout the recruitment process and you will be considered for alternative roles at every stage of the process.
