Jaguar details the technology behind the I-Pace

Ahead of it public debut at the Geneva International Motor Show next month, McLaren has released further information on the Senna. Fitted with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 – McLaren’s most powerful IC engine ever produced for a road car – the limited release hypercar will develop 800ps and 800Nm.

The Japanese OEM has revealed its all-new powertrain system which is set to be installed in 80% of Toyota vehicles by 2023. Based on the Toyota New Global Architecture, the technology will feature a new continuously variable transmission (CVT), a 6-speed manual transmission and a 2.0-liter hybridized engine unit.

Composite Technician (Performance Design)

Troy, Michigan, USA

Salary: Competitive

- Aid in process development, identify methods to improve quality and efficiency, and material/supply specifications
- Aid in building of value for customers
- Manufacture composites for low volume production and prototypes
- Performing typical composite duties such as trimming, fitting, laminating and cutting

Desired Specialized Knowledge and Skill Sets:
- Ideal individual will have a strong command of composite manufacturing principles and shop best practices for quality part production
- Candidate must be able to read, work from and understand oral and written engineering, blueprints, and sketches
- Knowledge of various composite fabrication methods preferred
- Proper surface prep and adhesive best practice knowledge for bonding process
- Hand lay‐out requiring the use of precision instruments
- Experience with high temp epoxy and carbon fiber is preferred
- Strong initiative, identification of product and process improvement opportunities and ability to work autonomously or within a group a must
- Strong communications skills and Microsoft Office suite proficiency
- Solid modeling capabilities a plus
- Understanding and interest in engine operating principles a plus

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Assembly/production work will be performed in a small, ultra clean shop environment.
- Exposure to materials, adhesives and solvents typical of composite industry
- Required safety gear and measures required at all times while working on composites
- May require some infrequent domestic travel
- Stress may occur periodically under tight deadlines
- Flexible and long hours may be required

- Individual is accountable for accurate, high quality, and efficient manufacture and assembly of Performance Design composite products

- Progressive with flexible work times, driven by deadlines and deliverables
