Mercedes-Benz unveils its revamped G-Class

The all-new G-Class makes its public debut at the Detroit auto show in G550 form. Completely redeveloped and fitted with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo gasoline engine offering 427ps and 450 lb-ft of torque at 2,000rpm to 4,750rpm, despite near-identical looks to its predecessor plenty has changed for the Mercedes-Benz SUV.

Design Engineer (Pinnacle Engines)

Pinnacle Engines, a venture capital backed startup located in San Carlos, California, USA, is seeking talented engineers to join a team that has developed a game-changing engine. We’re seeking a design engineer that will primarily focus on casting – HPDC/LPDC/sand casting – with preference for those having experience with crankcases and/or cylinder head designs for high volume production intent. The design engineer will use their understanding of current best practice design methods to conceive, design, and contract out the manufacture of engine components for a range of unique high efficiency engines. Design will be performed in Solid Works in such a manner that they can be manufactured worldwide
from the generated drawings.

Requirements
 
• BSME or applicable technical degree, advanced degrees preferred
• Basic understanding of engine function and fundamentals
• Minimum of 5 yrs experience with CAD design/drafting and liasing with vendor supply base for
associated components. Competency in tolerancing and GD&T expected
• Ability to take ownership of a component or assembly and design, draft, and manage vendors to take
part(s) from concept to functional components
• Capable of working with flexible design constraints
• Ability to communicate well and work proactively in a small, cross-functional team
