Mercedes-Benz unveils its revamped G-Class

The all-new G-Class makes its public debut at the Detroit auto show in G550 form. Completely redeveloped and fitted with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo gasoline engine offering 427ps and 450 lb-ft of torque at 2,000rpm to 4,750rpm, despite near-identical looks to its predecessor plenty has changed for the Mercedes-Benz SUV.

Developed by the powertrain team behind the 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine for super duty trucks, the all-new 3.0-liter V6 Power Stroke unit promises 250ps, 440 lb-ft of torque, and an anticipated 5175kg of towing capacity.

Diesel Calibration Engineers (FEV)

Warwickshire, UK

Salary: £40K to £55K

 Responsibilities include:
- Calibration of after treatment systems of Diesel passenger cars.
- Calibration of On-Board–Diagnosis (OBD)functions focused on after treatment systems e.g. DOC, SCR, DPF technologies in conjunction with Bosch EDC17 controllers for different engine configurations designed for different markets with corresponding different homologation requirements.
- Analysing the software capability to ensure a sufficient OBD system which can handle the requirements of the specific homologation.
- Calibration activities including office work as well as efforts on engine test benches and vehicles including tests on roller chassis, test tracks and on-road.
- The calibration process will be supported by the usage of development tools such as INCA and Uniplot.
- Where necessary support software bug fixes.
- Validating the robustness of the OBD calibration with appropriate analysis of vehicle endurance data and/or testing on development vehicles.
- Supporting homologation procedures.
- Communicating results and procedures to the calibration team within the United Kingdom and in Germany.
- Documenting and presenting the results.

Experience:
- Calibrating After Treatment Systems mandatory
- Bosch EDC17
- INCA, UniPlot, TopExpert (Preferred)
- Must have a Degree or Higher Qualification In Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
