Jaguar details the technology behind the I-Pace

Fitted with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 – McLaren’s most powerful IC engine ever produced for a road car – the limited release hypercar will develop 800ps and 800Nm.

The Japanese OEM has revealed its all-new powertrain system which is set to be installed in 80% of Toyota vehicles by 2023. Based on the Toyota New Global Architecture, the technology will feature a new continuously variable transmission (CVT), a 6-speed manual transmission and a 2.0-liter hybridized engine unit.

DPG Applications & Support Engineer

Cambridge, UK

Salary: £26-£32k dependent on qualifications/experience

The role will include:
• International travel to support and service the product
• Diagnosing and resolving problems with systems at the customer’s site and before dispatching new systems, both remotely and on site.
• Issuing quotations for and shipping replacement parts, analysing test data, and suggesting new test procedures.
• Pre-dispatch testing and calibration of new systems.
• Provide training, servicing and commissioning of equipment (normally overseas).
• Carry out new application testing in order to support product development.
• Liaising with existing & potential customers, assessing their requirements and discussing with the DPG team.

Ability to travel overseas normally short-term visits ~ 1 week to mainland Europe, USA, Japan, etc.
Willingness to make short notice trips to customers within the UK and Europe
A good understanding of mechanical and electrical systems backed up by practical experience
Attention to detail and ability/willingness for summarising test results in concise reports
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities including patience and diplomacy
Competent with MS Office applications
Relevant engineering or related science degree (2:2 or higher)

Basic salary of £26-£32k dependent on qualifications/experience
